We lost a legend Saturday morning, we lost the most winningest coach in NCAA football history, we lost a pillar of the sport of college football, and his name is Coach Joe Paterno. Joe Pa lost his battle with lung cancer Saturday morning after just months of being fired from the football program he helped build and make popular at Penn State University. Weeks after being fired Joe Pa was diagnosed with lung cancer and he eventually lost the fight, but we will always have the memories of seeing Joe running on the field leading out those classic blue and white uniforms. He also led Penn State to a few wins as well just 409 wins which just so happens to be the record, ooooooooh by the way he also has the bowl wins record with 24 aaaaaaaaaaaand 2 national championships. Ok enough sarcasm Joe Pa is what college football is and should be about, he coached for 46 years at the same school and brought much more than a winning football program to the school.
The scandal at Penn State has not tarnished my thoughts on Joe Pa because honestly I feel like his legacy outweighs the Penn State scandal. So Joe Pa from Mr. SOS Rest in Paradise you are and will be missed…….

MVP- Aaron Rogers QB/Green Bay Packers & Drew Brees QB/New Orleans Saints
Record breaking 5,476 yards from Brees and 4,643 yards from Rogers. These two lit up the stat sheet this season. Rogers had an amazing 6 interceptions total this season he was very efficient with the ball. Both QB’s meant a ton to their team and deserve the honor of MVP.
Offensive Player of the Year (Non QB)- Calvin Johnson WR/Detroit Lions
Calvin had 96 Receptions and a league leading 1,681 yards. Calvin showed this season why he should always be mentioned when talking about the elite receivers in the NFL.
Unsung hero of the year- LeSean McCoy-Philadelphia Eagles
LeSean was one of the brightest spots on a disappointing Eagles team. McCoy racked up 1300 yards and a league leading 17 touchdowns. He had another tremendous season that deserves praise.
Defensive Player of the Year- Jared Allen DE/Minnesota Vikings
22 sacks this season. If he had gotten one more he would have broken the record. Allen helped the Vikings to a 50 total sack season and despite the Vikings record Allen was definitely the best defensive player individually this year.
Rookie of the Year- Came Newton QB/Carolina Panthers
I should not have to say anything except 4,051 passing yards(Rookie Record), 21 TDs, and 14 Rushing Touchdowns(QB Record). Any Questions?
Coach of the Year- Jim Harbaugh
He took a mediocre team and made them the second best team in the NFC. 13-3 this season shows it is amazing what a team can do with the right leader. Ask Alex Smith.

We all seen it he front flipped over a man to score a TD. AMAZING!
Biggest Disappointment-Philadelphia Eagles
The self-proclaimed “Dream Team” was anything but that. On paper they looked like a shoe in for at least the #2 seed especially after shattering odds the year before with less play makers on the roster, however they fell flat and limped to an 8-8 record.
